2021 Grammys: Who Will Win Album of the Year?

Written By: Ishan Vijay

With only a few weeks left until the highly anticipated Grammy Awards, there has been much debate about who will take home the prestigious award for Album of the Year. On March 14th, we will finally figure out which one of our favorite artists will receive this award, but until then, there is nothing stopping us from making predictions.

Below are the Nominees for Album of the Year:

EVERYDAY LIFE - Coldplay

DJESSE VOL.3 - Jacob Collier

WOMEN IN MUSIC PT. III - HAIM

FUTURE NOSTALGIA - Dua Lipa

HOLLYWOOD'S BLEEDING - Post Malone

FOLKLORE - Taylor Swift

CHILAMBO - Jhene Aiko

BLACK PUMAS - Black Pumas

Now, there’s no doubt that this is going to be a tough category, but let’s take a look at which albums have the highest chance of winning, according to top critics (and my very reputable personal opinion).

1. Folklore - Taylor Swift:

This album is currently in the lead for the highest chances of winning this award. Taylor Swift spontaneously dropped Folklore, her 8th album, on July 4th of 2020. Going back to her country roots, she included songs like Betty and Invisible String on the album, and also included lyrical masterpieces like Exile with Bon Iver. Her emotion and lyrics on this album are what I believe to be strong factors of her high placement on this list.

2. Future Nostalgia - Dua Lipa:

Dua Lipa’s career has been rapidly progressing over the past few years and we are definitely here for it. Her most recent album, Future Nostalgia, included some of the biggest hits of 2020 like Don’t Start Now, Break My Heart and Levitating. The production on this album alone has been absolutely insane and created some of the funniest and coolest trends on social media. I hope I speak for everyone when I say that I would not be upset if she takes home this award (her first nomination in this category).

3. Hollywood’s Bleeding - Post Malone:

Although Post Malone has yet to take home a Grammy award, this might be a good year for him. His album, Hollywood’s Bleeding, had one of the biggest songs of the year...or possibly all time. ‘Circles’ by Post Malone was a career defining hit and spent more than 39 weeks on Billboard’s Top 100. His album had features from incredible artists like DaBaby, Future, Halsey, Meek Mill, SZA and more. We love Posty and are so excited for him to hopefully take home his first Grammy this year.

Make sure to check back to this article after the Grammys on March 14th, 2021, and see if our predictions were accurate!

Cheers!
